About Hot Yoga

What Is Hot Yoga?

Hot Hatha Yoga with heat, but not too much heat.

If you are new to yoga and slightly confused about different styles, you’ll be pleased to hear you’re not alone. All Yoga is beneficial. It just depends what you want from yoga, as to what style you do. What we understand in the West as Yoga is mostly the physical side – the ‘Asanas’. All yoga in this respect is Hatha Yoga, which has branched off into different styles over the years, each with their specific methodology to a particular style.

‘HOT YOGA’ is a series of Hatha yoga postures with the benefit of heat and adaptability.

We need heat in our body before we exercise to prevent injury. Yoga is no different. Heat protects us. Heat can be internal, external or both. The ‘Heated Room’ allows the body to work deeper and more quickly without injury, thereby getting the maximum benefit from your ‘time on the mat’.

The skin is the largest organ of the body. – when heated it sweats, BINGO – a Natural DETOX

Focus on ‘The Breath’ – our muscles need to be fed oxygen to work effectivly and efficiently. If not, they cramp or build up lactic acid. ‘The Breath’ should never be compromised by ‘The Posture’ – but we’ve all done it……………….that comes with practice. Our ‘ego’ sneeks in occasionally. So for maximum benefit, make sure you ALWAYS breath ! No holding your breath.

The postures are done in a series, which can be modified depending on the needs of the individuals.
None of us are built the same, we all have things we are good at or not so good at in life , well the postures are the same. There are some you’ll love and others you’d prefer someone else to do for you on certain days, but if you honestly try, you will receive the maximum benefit to yourself.
